Menus and tooling

UI library · Keyboard shortcuts · Desktop guide

Use the top menu for entry points and the workspace tabs for ongoing work. Some application menus are built when opened, so entries may depend on the capabilities available in this installation. For the purpose and verification step of each window, see desktop workspaces. For adding a studio tool or new DCC, see modules and languages and add a host application.

Apps

Actual Tech Connector Apps menu with capability status, DCC Driver, DCC, Engine, Services, and Messaging groups

Apps > DCC contains Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, Substance Painter, Houdini, and MotionBuilder. The application submenu has the actions Tech Connector can expose for that host, such as opening it, reading selection or scene state, installing a bridge, and calling commands. Apps > Engine contains Unreal Engine and Unity. For Unreal, the submenu groups setup, inspection, actions, and advanced operations. Apps > Capability Status... is the first place to check whether the needed bridge is available.

Apps > Services contains integration and account setup. Apps > Messaging contains notification output and messaging setup. A visible menu entry is a route to an operation; confirm the live host connection before a run and inspect the resulting asset afterward.
